    This timeline describes what happened in details before the Revolutionary War. It talks about the French and Indian War, The Proclamation of 1763, Quartering Act, Stamp Act, Boston Massacre, Boston Tea Party and the First Continental Congress.

    French and Indian War
    French and Indians VS. British and Colonists. During the French and Indian War the British started to tax the colonists outragousely because they were in debt. Also there was alot of fighting over land. In 1763 a peace treaty was signed which gave British control over Canada.The war went from 1754-1763 1754-1763.

    The Proclamation of 1763
    The Proclamation of 1763 was when the British commanded that the Colonists were not aloud to go past the Appalachian Mountains. The colonists thought this was not fair that the British got all the the land and the Colonists got none. The Colonists thought that the British had no right to do this.

    The Stamp Act was when the British taxed the Colonists on all there paper and a blue stamp proved that the Colonists payed. This was also when the Colonists put up for there first protest. The Colonists were so mad because all the money the Colonists gave to the British went straight to the British government. The Colonists thought it was so unfair that they had no say in the law.

    The Quartering Act was when the British ordered the Colonists to give the soldiers shelter. Then the British said that the Colonists needed to give the soldiers food, transportation, and fuel (water) in addition the to the shelter. The Colonists did not like this one bit. The soldier were very mean so this is what created tension between the Colonists and the British soldiers.

    The Boston Massacre was when the Colonists and soldiers hated eachother. What really created the tension between the Colonists was the Quartering Act. One day a group of Colonists walked up to 2 soldiers and started calling them names. This made the soldiers very made and 1 soldier fired his gun and a massacre began. Five Colonists dies that day it really was a massacre.

    The British stopped taxing the Colonists except for on there tea. The Colonists loved there tea but refused to buy it because they were being taxed. This made them furious. So one day before the British ship left with all the tea 2 men dressed up as Indians and poured out 90,000 pounds of tea into the ocean.

    First Continental Congress
    After the Boston Tea Party the Parliment decided to punish the Colonists for pouring 90,000 pounds of tea into the ocean. The punishment for the Colonists was the Colonists lost all their jobs, and food until the tea was paid off. Later the leaders from the 12 colonies gathered togerthed in Philadelphia to discuss the problems with Britain.This meeting was called the First Continental Congress. The delegates agreed to fight with the Colonists . The colonies worked together for the first time.
