Events Leading to the American Revolution Timeline

    In the French and Indian War it was the French against the Brittians, but they were both accompanied by native tribes as their allies. They were fighting over land that stretched between the Appalachian Mountains and the Mississippi river. In the beginning the French were winning but in the end the Brittans won.

    The Sugar and Stamp Acts were different taxes that were put on goods, the sugar act was a tax put on molasses, sugar imported by the colonists.The stamp act was a tax put on any sort of paper products bought by the colonists. The patriots then boycotted all taxed items sold by brittain.

    The Townshend Acts were taxes on things like imported glass, wood crafted goods, paint, and tea. The reason for this act was that after the French and Indian War britain wanted the colonists to pay for the war.

    The Boston Massacre was when british troops started firing on the colonists who were rioting, the colonists were rioting because they were being taxed on a number of things, but the colonists were threatening the soldiers with clubs and other weapons.

    The Boston Tea Party was when the patriots dressed up as the natives and boarded a british ship and dumped millions of dollars worth of tea into the harbor. The reason the patriots did this was because the tax on tea was three pennies per lb. of tea. When britain found out they shut the harbor down and made the colonists pay for the tea that was dumped.
