    When the colonies were being igored by their government and left to fend for themselves, it lead to salutary neglect. Since the colonies could only trade wit the mother country, mercantilism lead t colonial resentment.

    France and Great Britain wanted total control over North America. The war ended in British victory.

    This act was considerd, by the colonists, to be a revenue tax. In response to this the colonies did a boycott which eventually lead to the repeal of tax.

    Best known for his speesch ending in "{Give me liberty, or give me death!" he was a critic against the stamp act.He presented 7 resolutions to the stamp act to the House of Burgesses. Patrick Henry also led the fight for the adoption of the Bill of Rights.

    The Townshend Acts put taxes on various goods such as glass and lead. The colonists response to this was to boycott, this repealed tax on everything except tea. Then the colonists protested with the Boston Tea Party.

    On March 5, 1770 5 American colonists were shot at by British troops. Crispus Attacks, an African-American man, was killed. The event has two sides to the story which the British claims that rocks and other things were thrown at them. This event increased American distrust of British military presence in the colonies.

    Composed of 56 delegates from 12 colonies, they came in response to the intolerable acts. They met in secret so the British wouldn't know they were united.

    Paul Revere
    Paul Revere was riding through the countryside to warn the Americans that the British were coming. He didn't make his destination because he was captured by British forces, but Dr. Samuel Prescott, a companion of Paul, got the message through.

    Two groups of people from all 13 colonies came together to discuss liberty. They met in Philidelphia when the Revolutionary war started. They created the continental army and put George Washington as commander in Cheif. The Decleration of Independence, the Articles of Confederation, nd the Mrine Corps arose from the discussions.
