    Rome-Berlin Axis is Announced
    Italy and Germany make an alliance. Mussolini and Hitler shared some of the same ideas in leading a country, as Italy had recently turned to fascism. Hitler thought it was best to make Italy an ally.
  • Austria is Annexed

    Austria is Annexed
    Hitler rides peacfully into a city of welcoming Austrians. He believed that Austria and Germany had close ties and should become one. He had beforehand had propaganda placed to swing the people to accept nazi idealogy. It became known as the Anchluss.

    Germans invade and occupy the Czech Republic
    The Nazis invade the Czech lands after being handed the Sudetenland. All of the significant defences were in the Sudetenland, so it was easy for them to march right through. Allies don't do much to stop them.

    WW2 Begins after Germany invades Poland
    Nazi Germany invades Poland with the help of the Soviet Union. They test out their "Blitzkreig" war tactic which proves to be a huge sucess. Poland falls in just one month.

    Nazis Have Taken over Both Norway and Denmark
    Norway and Denmark both fall. Nazis take these countries to prevent a naval blockade from Britain. Both countries cannot defend the might of the Third Reich, and are defeated relatively quickly.

    Nazis Defeated in the Battle of Britain
    The Luftwaffe are defeated while battling over Britain. The amphibious assault is cancelled due to Aliied air superiority. Because Britain wins, the Allies have a staging place for a future invasion.
  • Axis Powers Attack the Soviet Union

    Axis Powers Attack the Soviet Union
    All the Axis Powers except Bulgaria attack the USSR. The battle lasts for longer than expected. Soviet defense is proving effective and had pushed the NAzis back at some points.
  • Japan Bombs Pearl Harbor

    Japan Bombs Pearl Harbor
    Japan strikes at the Hawaiian base. The cripples the Pacific fleet. The US and Britain declared war on Japan, and Hitler declares war on the US a few days later.
  • British Bomb Köln

    British Bomb Köln
    The British attack Germany in their own country for the first time. They bomb the city of Köln. Over the next few years Urban Germany is reduced to rubble.
  • Soviets Counter-Attack Germany

    Soviets Counter-Attack Germany
    Soviets push back the Germans all the way to Romania. They capture the Nazi 6th Army and end the German advance. They begin to plan an advance of their own.
  • D-Day

    D-Day
    A massive attack on the Atlantic Wall of Europe is successful. The amphibious attack landed over a million men on the beaches of Germany. Germany is now fighting a 2-front war against the Soviets in the East and the new troops in the West.
