    Japan invades China to start their plan to take over the Pacific. This all started due to a Marco-Polo bridge incident. This is significant because this was leading to attacks through China to get to the US.
  • Britain & France at the Munich Conference appease Hitler

    Britain & France at the Munich Conference appease Hitler
    At the Munich Conference Germany had signed appeasement with France & Britain, that they will claim no more land, but be given back Sudetenland. But, also the breaking of the Treaty of Versailles. This is important because this could be a start to Germany creating WWII, by breaking this appeasement.

    Germany invades Poland to begin WWII in Europe. This was a way of breaking the appeasement, which was supposed to be peace for 10 years. This was important because this is where WWII had really begun. After this, France & Britain declared war on Germany.

This was significant because this kind of prevented a planned sea and airborne invasion from Britain. As well, Germany had bombed British Parts, airfields, radar stations, and industrial cities.

    Italy invades Greece to try to control more territory in North Africa and the Mediterranean. They did this because they wanted to gain Northern parts of Africa, such as Libya, Somalia, Eritrea, and Ethiopia. This was important because if Italy were to successfully get through Greece, they could've probably colonized more parts of Africa.

    Germany invades the Soviet Union to carry out Operation Barbarossa. Operation Barbarossa was simply known as the non-aggression pact. This was important because this had pushed Germany back, due to Soviet troops. As well, creating a Scorched Earth Policy.

    The US bombed Tokyo as a counter to Pearl Harbor known as Doolittle's Raid. The US flew the Doolittles's to Tokyo and bombed it, but later crashed in China, and the Soviet Union. This was important because it shows the revenge the US had on Japan due to them bombing one of the naval bases.

    The Battle of the Coral Sea begins in the Pacific. This was basically an airborne battle, that was conducted on carriers. This was significant because this battle ended as a draw, and all the allies gained strength.

    The Battle of Midway was a turning point in the Pacific. The Japanese attacked the US fleet, the US destroyed all of their carriers and aircraft. This is important because the Japanese navy never recovered from this US attack, and this leads to many more battles in the Pacific.

    Axis forces surrender in Tunisia ending the North African Campaign. Basically, Italy tried to take over land in Northern Africa and didn't cover that much land. This is important because one of the Axis Forces had dropped out, which means there is less backup involved.

    Benito Mussolini was overthrown and arrested by his former colleagues of the Fascist Government. He was later rescued by Nazi Germany but then had been shot. This is significant because knowing this Italy doesn't have no stable leader in place and anything can happen.

    The Battle of Tarawa was a problem for the US when going against Japan, especially during low tides. This was a bloody, 76-hour battle, which both sides suffered severely. This is important, due to this being one of the major Pacific battles during WWII.

    D-day is known as the Battle of Normandy, France. Where Stalin had helped relieve the Soviet Forces in the east and fought on the west side. This is important because this shows how the Soviet Forces were trying to close in on Germany.

    The Battle of Iwo Jima was fought on an island near Japan's homeland. The US did this because they needed a place to take long-range bombing missions. This is important because for the US winning this they needed an airbase for the aircraft's, and Japan not holding many resources.

    The Battle of Okinawa was the battle that ended all battles in the Pacific. This was mainly about occupying and invading Okinawa and claiming more Japanese territory. This was significant because this simply ended WWII through the Axis and Allied Forces.
