Alex goes to court and get sentenced to life in Furnace. When Alex gets to the Furnace he gets on a elevator with 3 other kids that takes them a mile down in the ground. While on the way down Alex learns that the 3 other kids in there with him were framed with murder just like him -

When the elevator reaches the bottom the Warden comes out with morbid looking dogs and Blacksuits. The Warden introduces Alex and the three other boys to their cells mates that's when Alex meets his best friends Donovan and Zee -
Escape from Furnace Lockdown
After a couple of days of Donovan explaining how the Furnace works and who runs what to Alex he see's Monty (one of the boys in the elevator with Alex) being forced to lick up slop off the floor. Alex loses his temper and starts a fight with the skulls he gets a few of them then he gets pinned down.
zee smacks one on the back of the head with a tray. A lockdown starts and Zee and Alex run for their lives from the dogs and escape them killing one. -
Escape from Furnace Lockdown
The trough room is closed for a couple of days due to the Lockdown and Alex and Zee are targeted by the skulls. Later that day Zee, Alex, Donovan, and Monty get assigned to trough room and Monty cooks them an actual meal. Later that night Monty gets taken by the wheezers. -

New kids named Ashley, Toby, and Gary come to the Furnace and after the siren rang Gary started a fight with the skulls and broke the leaders arm and knocked two other ones out and became the leader of he skulls. -

Alex, Donovan, and Zee come up with an escape plan and start gathering supplies. -

After Alex, Donovan, and Zee gather all the supplies they plan to leave the next day but durning the night the wheezers take Donovan but they still carry on with the plan but someone snitched on them right before they left and they blew a hole into room two and jumped in the river
