    DOB and Contribution

Ernst Mach was born in 1838 in Chirlitz, Moravia. Which was part of the Austrian Empire at the time, but is now part of the Czech Republic. Ernst Mach was a philosopher who wrote a book in 1883 called "The Science of Mechanics." A Critical and Historical Account of Its Development. Open Court Publishing Company, 1893.
  • Looking at real things

Ernst Mach believed that scientific ideas come from what we can sense in the world around us. He thought it was really important for scientists to test their ideas by looking at real things and making sure they can explain what they see. He also had an idea that scientists should try to explain things using as few ideas as possible. This became an important idea in a group of philosophers who thought that the only way to know something for sure was to be able to prove it through observation.
  • Book Insight

Ernst Mach's book "The Science of Mechanics" was originally published in German in 1883 under the title "Die Mechanik in ihrer Entwicklung." The English translation by Thomas J. McCormack was published by Open Court Publishing Company in 1893. In this book, he talked about how we can learn about the world through our senses and how important it is for scientific ideas to be tested by observation.
  • Conclusion

Overall, Mach's work had a significant impact on the development of the philosophy of science and helped to shape the way that scientists and philosophers think about the relationship between theory and observation. Unfortunately, he died on February 2, 1916, of pneumonia in Haar, Bavaria, Germany.
