    With Adeline first being born, she gets to experience the first stage of Erikson's development- Basic Trust vs. Mistrust. As her mother cradles her up against her chest and rocks her slowly, Adeline begins to feel the trust between her and her mother, making her feel more welcoming towards the world outside and everyone around her.

    Adeline's First Pour: Autonomy vs Shame & Doubt

    Adeline (3 Years old) is finally experiencing more motor movements and decides to pour herself a bowl of cereal. Adeline develops the second stage of Erikson's Developmen. As she looks at her mother curious if what she is doing is right or wrong, as her mother smiles and gives two thumbs up, Adeline feels proud of herself rather than doubt because her mother's approval made her feel better about what she is experiencing through her life using her motor movements in an efficient way.

    Uh Oh For Adeline: Initiative vs. Guilt

    Adeline (4 years old) thought it would be a good idea to color the walls, in an attempt to show her mother her drawing of colorful rainbows, hoping her mom would be happy. Her mom was upset because now the walls of her house are covered in markers, so she talks to Adeline telling her that what she did is not right, and rather than experiencing initiative she is experiencing guilt and feels sorry for what she did to the house. As she has just experienced the third stage of Erikson's Development.

    Adeline (8 years old) has been going to school for a while now, and she received her test on multiplication back and an A. Her teacher greeted her with excellence and said she was very proud of her. She has now experienced the fourth stage of Erikson's development, and she is proud of herself because her teacher is also proud of her. Rather than failing and feeling inferior, she feels industrial and happy because of what she had accomplished.

    As summer rolled around, Adeline (16 years old) experienced a new look, and as she was walking out of her house, her grandmother caught her and said they needed to talk. Her grandmother explains that she should not be dressing like that and she must change to leave the house. Now experiencing identity, which is Erikson's fifth stage, she feels confused on how she should portray herself because she cannot be herself, blocking her path to finding her true self.

    Cheers For The Bride: Intimacy vs. Isolation

    Today is the day! Adeline (26 years old) who is now experiencing Erikson's sixth development stage, is getting married. This indicates her role towards intimacy where she has a lover rather than isolation where she is alone. The happiness is overwhelmed for her and her husband and she finally figured out her identity and what she wanted herself at the age of 26.

    A Big Helper: Generativity vs. Stagnation

    Adeline (46 years old) has her life completed for her; husband, kids, a lovely house. Now she wants to give back to the community, join multiple volunteer groups, and tutor younger children applying in the nursing major, as she did in high school. Her generosity and care ness prove that she has completed the generativity part of Erikson's seventh stage of development, which positively impacts her and the community as a whole.

    Adeline's Last Days: Ego Integrity vs. Despair

    As Adeline (72 years old) is now experiencing her final days as she has lived her life to the fullest, she thinks back to what she has done for her life and feels content with the life she has given for herself and her loved ones. Erikson's eighth stage of development, ego integrity vs despair, Adeline shows that she has developed ego integrity as she is at peace with the decisions and outcomes that she had made for herself and will continue to nurture and care for the ones she loves.
