    Bruce Wayne Begins Training to become Batman: Industry vs. Inferiority
    Shortly after his parent's deaths, a young Bruce Wayne (around age 8) begins training to become Batman by traveling the world to be taught to fight by masters of martial arts. In Erikson's fourth stage, industry versus inferiority, the crisis is between working hard to develop and master skills to achieve a goal (industry) or feeling worthless when you are not supported in learning new skills.
  • Batman Proposes to Catwoman: Intimacy vs. Isolation

    Batman Proposes to Catwoman: Intimacy vs. Isolation
    Batman (age 39) proposes to Catwoman after realizing he's unhappy being Batman but would be happier with Catwoman in his life. In Erikson's sixth stage, intimacy versus isolation, the crisis is between developing close and committed relationships with others (intimacy) or keeping to yourself by not getting to know anyone and having no strong bonds.
  • Batman Takes in the Fifth Robin: Generativity vs. Stagnation

    Batman Takes in the Fifth Robin: Generativity vs. Stagnation
    Batman (age 41) takes in his son, Damian Wayne, as the fifth Robin to raise him to fight crime with similar morals (don't kill people) so that someone may take over in protecting Gotham City when Batman is no more. In Erikson's seventh stage, generativity versus stagnation, the crisis is between caring for others and making the world a better place (generativity) or feeling the sense of failure in ways to contribute.
