Erikson Timeline

  • Trust vs. Mistrust: Anna is understanding

Anna (3 months) starts to understand that objects and people exist even if she isn't able to see them because she is developing a sense of trust between what is around her. In Erikson's fifth stage, identity vs. identity confusion, the crisis is people not figuring out who they are or what they want in life, this could lead to people struggling with role confusion, and they can't find a sense of belonging.
  • Intimacy vs. Isolation: Anna gets married

Anna (age 24) gets married to Marcus because they are deeply in love with each other and want to spend the rest of their lives together. In Erikson's sixth stage, the problem that could occur would be a person being unable to become vulnerable and end up in isolation without a relationship. This could lead to someone feeling lonely and have poor romantic relationships in the future.
