    Jaxson (age 10) was bullied for having buck teeth. Jaxson started to feel self conscious about his teeth.
    In Erikson's 5th stage of development children begin to develop pride through social interactions. Success and encouragement leads to confidence, but failure leads to feeling inferior and insecure.

    Jaxson finds his faith, Identity vs. Confusion
    Jaxson (age 16) starts to attend church. He finds a sense of self, security and belief. Today he gets baptized.
    Stage 5 is an essential role in developing a sense of self, this continues to influence the persons behavior and development for the rest of their life. Teens need to develop a sense of self to succeed or it tends to lead to lack of self and role failure.

    Jaxson gets married, Intimacy vs. Isolation
    Jaxson (age 23) and Lexy decide to commit their lives to each other, they found a shared sense of self in their beliefs and lives.
    In Erikson's 6th stage of development he believes adults need to find happy, loving relationships, failure leads to loneliness and isolation, success leads to happiness and security.
