Activision Blizzard Merger
Activision became the dominant partner in the deal, many fans were upset at the result. However everything remains the same so atleast the game will not change. The sales of Activision are projected low in comparison to Electronic Arts at the time.
As I am not particularly fond of Activisions latest work with the COD series, this is not a change that pleases me. With that said I am still a WoW fan and the new expansion is going to be awesome. -
World Of Warcraft Hits 10 Million Subscribers
Question 1
WoW hitting 10million subscribers is a great feat in the game industry and MMORPGs in general. Other mmorpgs pale in comparison to the mmo giant Blizzards World of warcraft. Their sales outdid many other companies since the original release. With it approaching its 4th expansion it will surely continue to dominate the MMO market. Question 2

Question 1
This event made many MMO companies write strict rules prohibiting any game cheat software. Those caught doing so will be permanently banned from many of the games enforcing these rules. Some even have anti-cheat programs written into their core.

If I were a designer at this time I would have found ways to help the company better protect itself from software that enables an easy ride in the game. -

The closing of lucas arts is one many fans are saddened by; George made some awesome games and movies. Many Lucas employees were laid off after Disney announced the closure, which left them hoping for another game company to pick them up. On the other hand by making it into a licensing deal many new companys may make epic star wars games, or indiana jones.Question 2

Oculus Rift
The possibilities are endless with The Oculus Rift; Virtual Reality here we come. This is a great industry accomplishment it will be usefull in next gen games and even science, and medical industry. The military is even looking at it for combat simulation in conjunction with a vr vest.
Being able to make a three dimensional game in virtual reality format would be a great personal feat. This would be somewhat of a dream come true I would push making a ER simulation for use with Oculus
