    Potsdam Ultimatum
    Allied leaders warned Japan to surrender. They warned that if Japan does not surrender there would be "the inevitable and complete destruction of the Japanese armed forces and just as inevitably the utter devastation of the Japanese homeland".     Bombing of Hiroshima
    An atomic bomb, Little Boy, was dropped in Hiroshima, which was the city of industrial and military significance. The bomb literally obliterated the whole city, and left millions of casualties; Radio Tokyo decribed this event as : "Practically all living things, human and animal, were literally seared to death". The bombing became one of the keys to end the World War II.

    After the bomb of Hiroshima, another bomb was dropped in Nagasaki, where it was known for its industrial activity (it covered 90% of Japan in industrrial activities). United States was originally going to target Kokura, however, due to the foggy weather, plan was changed to Nagasaki. About 75,000 people were killed imediately from this bomb.
