    Navigation Acts
    Purpose- Colonists could only buy and ship with the british
    Outcome- Colonists would smuggle, not wanting to pay the high taxes to ship goods and recieve low amounts of money for goods.
  • Proclamation of 1763

    purpose- colonist border was the appalachian mts. and couldn't move westward.
    outcome- colonists who already bought land west of the appalchian mts. were mad
  • Sugar Act

    Sugar Act
    Purpose- parliment lowered taxes hoping that people would pay them instead of smuggling.
    Outcome- Colonists felt biolated because of writs of assistance and were being put into admiralty courts
  • Stamp Act

    Purpose- parliment put stamps on almost all printed materials including newspaper, cards, wills, ect.
    Outcome- colonists were mad, because they were being taxed without their consent
  • Declaratoy Act

    purpose- parmilment had the right to tax and make decisions for the british colonies.
    outcome- they didnt want to pay or follow parmilents decisions
  • Townshend Acts

    Townshend Acts
    purpose- parliment would tax imported goods such as glass, paper, rea, ect.
    Outcome- colonists boycotted becaause they didnt want to pay taxes to parliment. only to their own representatives.

    allowed the company a virtual monopoly, or sole contorl, of the trade for tea in america
    outcome- this act started the boston tea party
  • Coercive Acts

    Coercive Acts
    purpose- closed boston harbor until the massachusetts colonist paid for the ruined tea
    outcome- colonists said that that violated their rights as english citizens
  • Quebec Act

    Quebec Act
    purpose- gave quebec the area west f the appalachians and north of the ohi river
    outcome- colonists were mad that parliment ingnored their claims to the area.
