Emilien Krukowicz: Evolution of Nintendo

  • Nintendo Entertainment System (NES)

    Nintendo Entertainment System (NES)
The Nintendo Entertainment System was revolutionary when it came out in the 80's. It was the staple that made Nintendo what it is. An at home console with relatively wide selection of different and entertaining games that the whole family could enjoy. Of course the NES wasn't the first at home gaming system, at the time it was the best, and to this day i still enjoy playing the one my parents used to have.
  • Nintendo 64 (N64)

    Nintendo 64 (N64)
I'm positive when i say that almost everyone, if not everyone has used or at least heard of the Nintendo 64. Best known for its odd controller design and its "hall of fame" game Super Mario 64, when this system hit the shelves people went crazy. To this day it is still my favorite console that contains all of my favorite games like Zelda Ocarina of Time and Donkey Kong. I believe that the N64 is a novelty that will never die, and future generations of kids will still have the urge to play on it.
  • Game Boy Color (GBC)

    Game Boy Color (GBC)
Although there was nothing particularly special about the Game Boy Color that set it aside from its competitors, it still was a step up from it predecessor that had come out a few years before. This wasn't a revolutionary device, however it did sell better than any of its competitors. This was probably due to its selection of games which have remained favorites such as Pokemon. Nostalgia will still hit me every so often where i'll play Pokemon Yellow, Blue, or Red.
  • Nintendo Wii

    Nintendo Wii
Im sure everyone remembers the good ole days over 10 years ago, either at your house or at a friends house having a blast playing wii sports. The Wii was a whole new innovation in the gaming console world, and skyrocketed Nintendo's sales. It was revolutionary as being the only console that could detect motion in three dimensions with the pointing device that you would hold in your hand. I still remember having fun family gatherings and playing the tennis or skiing games for hours.
  • Nintendo 3DS

    Nintendo 3DS
The 3DS was a cool idea for a handheld gaming device even if its execution wasn't perfect. The idea is that you could have a 3D setting turned on and at the right angle it would look like the game you were playing was actually coming out of the screen. What was amazing was its convenience since normally for that type of experience you would need to wear special lens'. Although it was really interesting and fun when it first came out, this has be one of the Nintendo devices i use the least now.
  • Nintendo Switch

    Nintendo Switch
Finally we have come to what is potentially my new favorite Nintendo Device. The switch is notorious for being both an at home gaming system and a portable gaming system. Now any game that you would normally have to be at home to play can be taken on the go either if you are on a plane ride or in the park. What also makes it incredible is its ability to still play games online while on the go if connected to wifi. All in all i purchased this device months ago and rarely do i put it down.
