Teachers have begun the process of using social media to improve communication between Teachers-Parents-Students. Remind101 or even Instagram are being used to keep the school home partnership alive.

Teachers will better understand the SBAC assessment requirements which will help them build and create new learning strategies for their students.

El Cerrito MS teachers will beging to flip the "normal" classroom. Teachers will become more like a guide or facilitator where students complete tasks at school where they can get guidence as needed. "Homework" will be more about research and peer discussion, either in-person or more likely via social media.

District IT department and school board finally make a Bring-Your-Own-Device policy that works and allows both teachers and students to use technology effectively on campus.

Teachers begin to truly experiment with new classroom designs. Desks are removed, single whiteboards are replaced with smaller whiteboardsw around the room, and a variety of student seating is added. Classrooms become more student focused and less teacher focused.

Similar to certain sepcial education programs currently in place, community based learning will begin to help ECMS with its College and Career Ready goals. Classrooms will begin to move into local businesses where learning can be better connected with real-world experiences. This will give students a broader understanding of what it means to be alife long lerner and show them that school really is about helping them become more successful and not just a series of assessments.
