Lawyer Tom Flowerdew was in dispute with Robert Kett over land. Kett gathered an army of 16,000 men. 4,000 rebels and royal troops were killed. Kett was hanged.
It was caused by enclosures/the economy and agriculture, NOT religion.
Why did it fail? Poorly chosen location, lack of supplies, government response, lack of aristocratic participation -
Cornish people feared that the Act of Uniformity would impact them so they set up armed camp at Bodmin. The main leader were local clergy. They wanted to restore the Act of Six Articles and restore Latin mass. They also wanted Cardinal Pole to have a place on the King's council. The main cause was religion, 13 out of the 14 articles called for an end to the reformation. There were also some economic and social grievances.
