    ESEA provided federal funding for states primarily for education with disadvantaged students. The states with low income students received more aid then those states with higher income students. They believe that education is a Constitutional right.

    The message that the report claimed was that the United States was not competitive compared to the rest of the world in terms of education. The commission recommended that schools raise their standards and have higher expectations for college admission and overall academic performance.
  • Improving America's Schools Act and Goals 2000 Educate America Act

    Improving America's Schools Act and Goals 2000 Educate America Act
    Improving America's Schools Act of 1994 recommended that state academic content standards and tests be enforced. While the Goals 2000: Educate America Act provided federal funds to aid states in writing those content standards.
  • No Child Left Behind

    No Child Left Behind
    They require testing for all 50 states for reading and math content standards and tests in 3-8th grade and once in the high school level. The purpose was to raise accountability and access achievement.
