-
By this time a new world of education began. Students were being taught more skills that they needed to achieve success in this new world.
-
A new century of education, focused more on the skills and making sense of them and using/sharing them in smart and healthy ways.
-
A cynic would say that technology hasn't changed education at all because students still talk to the people sitting next to them during lessons, they still fall asleep or get bored and now they have the chance to do other things on their devices when they're supposed to be doing work.
-
Some say that technology has changed education drastically. Technology gives students more opportunities to expand their education. They have more access to textbooks and other educational tools online. Technology has also given them the opportunities to communicate and collaborate with other students outside of the school.
-
On page 184 in Those Who Can Teach it says technology has been used in classrooms since the 1800s but was generally ignored at first. Schools had to set up step-by-step manuals for teachers so they could use technology for their lessons.
-
Schools used to have on room for all students of different ages. The students would work on their own assignments/lessons in the same room. Chalkboards were rarely used. (page 185)

The earliest form of educational software was games and drills for the students to help them learn to read faster and write more clearly. These programs have changed over the years. They used to let you move on to the next task even if you got an answer wrong, now they will not let you move on to the next task until everything is correct. This makes students think harder and longer and uses critical thinking skills. (page 194)
-
