Sir Walter Raleigh - The Lost Colony of Roanoke
Sir Walter Raleigh started a colony in America, went back for more colonist, but when he went back to England he had to stay for 1 yr by the queens orders (she was afraid the Spanish would attack). Once he was allowed to go back he made a detour to Cuba in search for treasure & did not get back to the Roanoke for 3 years! By the time he returned the colony was a ghost town; every colonist he had left had disappeared & all that was left was the word Croatoan carved into a tree trunk. -

Jamestown Colony
Jamestown was a colony led by John Smith, who was saved by princess Pocohontas & was taught how to survive in America. It was because of Pocohontas that their colony survived. John Smith is sent back to England & Pocohontas again saves Jamestown after the colonist take her captive because her father does not rescue her. She likes the colonist & learns their ways, eventually she marries John Rolfe & has a son, Thomas. -
The Mayflower Voyage
A trip that landed in Plymouth, Massachusetts, starting the 1st Northern Virginia colony of Plymouth Rock. -
The Mayflower Compact
A document signed by all members on board the Mayflower agreeing to handle politics & govern the colony in a way that benefited everyone, and had everyone's best interest at heart in order to be a successful colony. -

The battles fought by our minute men and the british red coats at Lexington and Concord were the first battles of the American Revolution. -
Battle of Bunker Hill
We fought well at Bunker Hill and defeated many British soldiers, but in the end we lost. The British conquered Bunker hill but didn't fill victorious. -

The continental congress approved of the Declaration of Independence (written primarily by Thomas Jefferson) and it was signed by the leader of congress, John Hancock. -

We won this battle and it showed the French how strong we were and made them want to support us. -

Valley forge was not a battle; it was a hard winter for the soldiers because they had no food or clothes.but we still did not give up and we fought for are freedom. -
Battle of Yorktown
It was the last battle we had to fight. And we had surrounded the British. And the french had taken down British's reinforcements so the general had no choice but to surrender to us and we won the Revolutionary war.
