    The Signing of the Declaration of Independence
    The Declaration of Independence was signed in July 4th, 1776 and it declared our freedom from France. It was made public to the people on July 4th and then we became, the United States. On that day we broke away from the colonies of France and became a free country.

    On September 17th the U.S. Constitution was offical signed. When it as signed, it took the place of the first form of government that almost destroyed the U.S, the Articles of Confederation. It also improved the way that things worked with the government.

    The Battle of Fort Sumter was the first battke in the civil war. The battle took place near Charleston, South Carolina. The Fort did evnd up surrendering and was taken over by union forces.

    The Battle of Gettysburg took place on July 1st until July 3rd 1863. It was the bloodiest battle in ever, but it was a big victory for the union.

    The battle of little bighorn was agaisnt general Custard and his men and the Cheyenne and the Arapaho Native american tribes. The battle didn't last long and the Native americans left no white man alive. It was a devestaing loss for general Custard, who was also killed, and a big victory for the native americans.

    This massacre took place near the wounded knee river so it was called the wounded knee massacre. It was against the Sioux native americans and the representitves of the US. The massacre took over 200 lives from women, children, and men.

    The great depression lasted for about 10 years and was a time when the U.S. dollar was worth nothing. Buisnesses when out because no one could buy anyhting. Also people about 23,000 people commited suicide during the great depression, the most ever because no one could afford anything.

    On October 28th the Wall Street stock market crashed. The Wall Street stock market crash, also known as Black Tuesday was the most devastating stock market craah in the history of the United States. When it crashed it marked the begining of the 10 year Great Depression.

    On May 18th, Mt. St. Helens erupted majorly. It exploded with so much force that the entire side of the mountain was blown off. Also the smoke was blown so far that the sky went black.

    One September 11th, two planes hit the world trade towers, and on that day, the twin towers fell.People in Manhattan were panic stricken because nobody knew if there were other planes coming. Also, the Pentagon was also struck by one plane and another diverted by the passangers who fought back.
