  • Sensorimotor Stage

  • Obedience and Punishment

    Obedience and Punishment
    In this stage I see rules as fixed guidelines that I must follow to avoid punishment. Kohlbers theory of Moral Development
  • Industry vs. Inferiority

    Industry vs. Inferiority
    During this stage I begin to develop pride and accomplishment after completing certain achievements. It is crucial for me to recieve encouragement during this stage. Erikson's Psychosocial Stage 4
  • Concrete Operational Stage

    Concrete Operational Stage
    During this stage, children begin to think logically and begin to develop a concept of conservation. They can now understand concrete events. Piagets Concrete Operational Stage
  • "Good boy, Good girl"

    "Good boy, Good girl"
    This stage of moral development is focused on living up to social expectations and the expectations of being "good". Especially making socially acceptable choices. Kohlbers Stage of Development
  • Identity vs. Confusion

    Identity vs. Confusion
    This is a stage of independence where people explore a sense of self. Those unsuccessful in this stage are unsure and insecure. Erikson's Psychosocial Stage
  • Formal Operational Stage

    Formal Operational Stage
    This stage occurs during and after adolescence, and this is where abstract thought emerges. We begin to think of more social and psychological questions. Piagets Formal Operational Stage
  • Universal Principles

    Universal Principles
    Kohlberg’s final level of moral reasoning is based upon universal ethical principles. People follow principles of justice, over laws.
  • Social Contract and Individual Rights

    Social Contract and Individual Rights
    In this stage, people begin to account for the differing values. Rules are important for maintaining a society, but members of the society should agree upon them. Stage 5 of Piagets theory
  • Integrity vs. Despair

    Integrity vs. Despair
    This is one of the last stages that occurs according to Erikson. This happens during old age, and consists of reflecting back on your life. If you feel like you have wasted your life then you will experience despair in this stage. In contrast you will experience a sense of integrity if you look back on it in success.
