    Gutenberg's innovation made printed books possible. At the time, the most popular printed text was the Bible, but over time, print media made its way into school houses in the form of hornbooks. These were small, wooden paddles with the alphabet printed on it. Over time, this would evolve into the textbook industry, a multi-million dollar industry.
