    In the year of 1831 Darwin was said to embark on a voyage aboard a ship of the British Navy, the HMS Beagle as a naturalist. As a naturalist his main job was to survey the coastline of South America. During that time, he collected plants, animals, rocks, and fossils.

    Exploring the regions of Brazil, Argentina, Chile, and the Galapagos Island. With the items he collected he would ship them in crates back to England. After five years of being at sea and traveling Darwin then proceeded to come home in 1836.
