    Jamon People
    In 5000 BC The Jamon people began creating cuture . They created day pottery using knotted cords to make designs on the clays surface . Jamon can also be translated to cord marks in Japanese language.

    Yayoi People

    Yayoi People
    . The Jomon Culture lasted up to 300BC then a new group was formed . The Yayoi . The Yayoi introduced farming , they practiced a number of skills which they had proberly learned from the chinese or koreons. Yayoi made pottery and grew rice paddies. The Yayoi were very skilled at making objects from metal such as axes ,knives, hoes from iron , sword,spears and bells from bronze. Bells were used in religious rituals still common in Japan today.

    Shotoku

    Shotoku
    In 600 BC A Yamato Prince named Shotoku toke charge of Japan on behalf of his aunt ,creating government. Shotoku sent out students to learn about Chinas ways they came back knowing about buddhist teachings not only that but they absorbed chinese art medicine and philosophy. Shotoku had used China as a model for Japan , shapeing way Japan would be the future .

    In the early AD 700's Japans emperors built a new city called Nara. Nara was the centre of government and religion in Japan. Because of Nara’s importance during the AD 700s was called the Nara period. Nara was exactly like Chinas capital of Changan but smaller .In Nara the Japanese emperors added new changes begun by prince Shotoku .They organised the government in ranks from top to bottom. As the emperor was getting stronger the Buddhism was becoming more popular.

    In the early 1100 the most powerful Japanese families were fighting eachother using samari armies. They fought over land to gain control over the emperor and his government. In 1180 the Gempei war began between to families. The Taira family and the Minamoto family .In 1185 the Minamoto family forces defeated the Tiara in a sea battle. The leader of the Minamoto was Minamoto Yoritomo, he was rewarded the Shogun commander of all emperors military forces.

    The Kamakura Shogunate ruled Japan untill 1333 . Samurai divideed theere lands among there sons the piece of kand eachsamurai owned became smalller and smaller. MAny samurai felt they no longer owned shoguns loyalty because they emporer had nt gven the samaria enough land. The emporer rebelled and some samarai came to his aid . The emporer was not able to gain control ver Japan because he refued to give more land to the samarai
