    Coventrys darkest time took place during the world war 2 when Adolf Hilter sinleged out Coventry for heavy bombing raids.Big areas of the city were totally destroyed caused by massive Greman raids during the night of 14/15 november 1940.
    Hundreds of fire men were sent to Coventry from the midlands, to do there best to put out the fire.Although they did struggle to put out the fires in the houses because the houses were made of wood and that turned into fire.568 peole died and 4,330 houses died.

    Soon after the war the city was extensively rebuilt again.The new city centre was built in the 1950s, there was a young town person callled Donald Gibbison and included one of Eurpoe first traffic-free shopping precincts.
