  • The Stamp Act

    The Stamp Act
    Stamp act Taxes are the way that a government raises money. The Stamp act required colonists to pay an extra stamp tax on all printed material. This included newspapers, legal documents and pamphlets. Soon the colonists were really upset. In Boston, colonists tossed the stamp agents into the bay. The agent’s homes were destroyed and they got told they would be hanged. Soon all the agents stopped!!!
  • The Quartering Act

    The Quartering Act
    On June 2, 1765 the quartering act was formed. After the French and Indian War the lawmakers formed many laws, but the colonists didn’t agree and was very angry. One of the first was the quartering act. The quartering act is a law that has colonists providing clothes, food and a home for soldiers.
  • The Townshend Acts

    The Townshend Acts
    June 5, 1767, The Townshend acts were formed. This act put taxes on many household items including glass, paper, lead, tea, and paint!!! Customs officials collected these taxes. Then the colonists decided to boycott or not to buy these products, no one has to want to go threw these laws so they already had a plan. Soon the Sons of liberty and others thought this was also unfair. Later on woman couldn’t stand it too. So they preformed a group called the daughters of liberty.
  • The Boston Massacre

    The Boston Massacre
    On March 5, 1770 the colonists called the British solders back and they called them lobster backs because of their uniforms. One day some boys started to throw snowballs at the British solders. Soon people started to taunt the solders. The solders began nervous and started shooting at the crowd!! Five colonists were killed in this incident. Later, Paul Revere made a law called the Boston Massacre. A massacre is a violent act and many people saw it.
  • The Boston Tea Party

    The Boston Tea Party
    On December 16, 1773 the sons of liberty grew angry. They were tired of the taxes they put on tea. So they dressed up as Indians and threw all the tea off the Boston harbor. And their leader signed the Declaration of Independence.
