  • Difference Engine

    Difference Engine
A difference engine is an automatic mechanical calculator designed to solve polnomial functions, and it can compute many sets of numbers.
  • Charles Babbage

In the time period of 1820s babbage worked on his "Different Engine" a machine that could perform mathematical calculations. He then devolped plans for a bigger and hopefully better machine "Different Engine 2"

  • Basic

In 1964 John G Kenmy and Thomas E Kurtz had designed the original BASIC language. They wanted to allow students in other things besides science.
  • Herman Hollerith

    Herman Hollerith
http://inventors.about.com/library/inventors/blhollerith.htm Herman Hollerith invented the computer punch cards. Hollerith's punch cards and machines were a step toward automated computation. His device could automatically read information which had been punched onto card. And the computer punch cards weren't used in computers until the last 1970s
  • Grace Hopper

Grace Hopper was a pinoeer scientist, she was also one of the first software engineers. In 1971.
