Proclamation of 1763
Forbade colonists from settling west of appalachian mountains. This causd both sides to get angry at each other. It was passed to prevent another rebelian against Britian. The colonists wanted the Ohio Valley fertile land, since they didnt have their own. This made them feel their losing their freedoms. -
Sugar Act
Placed a tax on sugar, molasses, and other products shipped to the colonies. Colonists got angry since smugglers got punished and they all smuggled. Colonial merchants often traded by smuggling so naturally this angered them. -
Stamp Act
a law that stated legal and commercial documents were stamped when paid. they didnt have the material to pay the British and colonial leaders vigoresly opposed. This affected all the colonists, not just the merchants in the sugar act. -
Quartering Act
law made by Britian to house soldiers in the colonies. This caused Britain to make more taxes on the colonies. -
Townshend Acts
The king's minister's plan to raise revenue. This caused an uproar in the colonies. The first suspended New York's assemblies untill they agreed to house soldiers. This caused alot of protest in the colonies. -
Boston Massacre
Happened when soldiers shot into an angry mob of protesters. 6 casualties. -
Boston tea party
A group of people who blocked british ships for tea. the tea was dumped into the ocean. -
Intolerable Acts
supposed to be called the Coecive Acts, this was called the intolerable acts because the punishment on Massachusets was too harsh. -
1st Continental Congress
event where congress decicedto start training troops and voted to ban all trade with Britian untill they repeal the Intolerable Acts. -

the first battles of war between the colonies and Britian. -
2nd Continental Congress meets
The meeting where they formed the continental army and had George Washington as the General. also authorized the printing of paper money. -
Battle Of Bunker Hill
A battle where the British forced the militia out of bunker hill and Breed's hill. The British lost 1000 soldiers and th militia lost 400 men. -
