  • Feb 20, 1565

    St. Augustine

    It lies in Florida
    Spanish explorer, Pedro Menéndez de Avilés. The priests and settlers who arrived with Menéndez built the first Christian mission in North America
  • Lost colony

    It is on Roanoke island
    It is called the lost coluny because no one knows what happend to the people that lived there.
  • Jamestown

    It is in Chesapeake bay.This expeaition was sponsered by a group of influential state men.
  • Plymouth

    It is in Cape Cod bay.
    It was founded by the pilgrimes when they came ove on the Mayflower.
  • New Netherland

    It included parts of what are now Connecticut, Delaware, New Jersey, and New York. And the Dutch West India Company attracted settlers from many European countries
  • Williamsburg

    Williamsburg was the capital of the Virginia Colony from 1699 to 1776 .
  • New Sweden

    Swedish settlers founded the colony in 1638 and built Fort Christina at what is now Wilmington, Delaware. New Sweden was a mildly successful fur-trading colony.
  • Pennsylvania colony

    In October 1682, Penn sailed up the Delaware River and saw his colony for the first time.
