  • Called Nana, no answer (no answering machine).

  • Nana called me to see what we were doing for my son's 2nd birthday. I had made no plans, so she offered to have a little party for him at her house. I thought that was nice.

  • Nana called and asked for Jeff (my husband).

  • I called Nana to thank her for having William's party at her house. She said, "You're welcome," and we talked about the kids.

  • I called Nana, no answer. She called Jeff back when I was not around.

  • I called Nana to invite her out with Diedra (her other son's girlfriend) and I, she refused.

  • Nana called to see what Katherine would want for her birthday. I tried to make small talk about things other than the kids, but she seemed uninterested.

  • Nana was rushed into the Emergency Room with a rapid heartbeat. She was admitted. She was scared, so we told her that we loved her and would be there for her through it all.

  • We went to see Nana. She asked me to clean and dress her sutres after her surgery because I was the one in the family with medical experience. I agreed to come by after work after surgery to take care of her.

  • I called Nana in the hospital to check on her, so did my mom. She was very scared of the surgery and scared of dying. We told her again how much we loved her and how we would be here when her surgery was done.

  • Nana had heart surgery. We went to see her when she woke up. She was so happy to be awake and alive.

  • I called Nana in the hospital to see how she was doing.

  • Nana went home from the hospital today. She called me to make a plan for me to come the next day to dress her wounds.

  • I went to Nana's after work to dress her wounds. She thanked me and we chit chatted. I enjoyed this time with her.

  • I came over after work again to dress her wounds. Again, we chit chatted.

  • Nana called to confirm the time of my daughter's birthday party.

  • I called Nana to ask for some advice on pest control. She told me what I wanted to know, then there was awkward silence. I asked her if she wanted to hang out Saturday night and she said no because her dart league meets then.

  • Nana called to wish Jeff and I well on our cruise. Her tone was a bit snarky. She agreed to watch our children that Sunday that we were gone to help out.

  • I showed up at her dart tournament and had a drink with her. She mainly talked about the kids, but I tried to keep the focus on other things.

  • I called Nana to invite her to church on Easter Sunday in a month; she said, "We'll see."

  • I called Nana to ask her if she was going to play an April Fool's joke on her boyfriend. She said no, he was the fool and then laughed. Then we reminisced on previous April Fool's jokes we had played.
