    The U.S. and the U.S.S.R were fighting in the Cold War. A Cold War is a state of tension between two countries without actual fighting. The Cold War that happened from 1944-1989 was located in the U.S and the U.S.S.R. This event was important to history because this war was fought over communism and democracy. This event impacted politics due to the main problem of the war, communism and democracy. It impacted politics because the U.S. stayed communist.

    In the U.S, families were having many babies. The birthrate in U.S. increased tremendously. The population grew to 29 million in the 1950s from 9 million in the 1930s. This event was important to history because it increased the population by millions. Baby boom impacted society because it costed families more money which would increase the price of everything. It also impacted society because when the babies grow up, they will need jobs and education.

    Joseph McCarthy
    Joseph McCarthy was the Senator for Wisconsin. In 1953, he claimed that 57 of the State Department employees were communists. However, he could not prove his claim. People were fired, therefore others were afraid to defend the employees. Eventually McCarthy was censured and lost his power due to a strong feeling of disapproval. This event was important to history because it gave Wisconsin a bad name. This event impacted politics because the spread of suspicion of communism cam to Americans.

    JFK was assassinated in Dallas, Texas, 1963, by Lee Harvey Oswald. The assassin shot JFK in the head when he was in an open car. There were 3 television broadcast with no interruptions. This event was important because JFK was the president at the time and now went from a good president to no president. This event affected society. The people wanted JFK as their president but now he is not alive. Also, he could have made more good or bad decisions.

He also boycotted the Olympics. He was important to history because he passed acts that would help the U.S. He impacted society due to his decisions as a president.

    George W. Bush was a republican president from 2000-2008. He was also the governor of Texas. He is remembered for being the president during the 9/11 attack. He was important to history because he cut taxes for the U.S. George W Bush impacted society because he made many changes to the U.S.

    In 2008, there was a financial crisis in the United States. Companies that normally relied on credit suffered a lot. So, the bank was afraid that the companies would not pay them back., therefore, they they stopped making loans to people.The government tried tot bailout companies and wall streets. This was important to history because it was a crisis in the Untied States that brought us to debt. This impacted society because this event brought unemployed people and two million jobs were lost.
