    1) The Bay of Pigs was a failed military invasion of Cuba undertaken by the CIA-sponsored paramilitary group Brigade 2506.
    2) This is significant to the Cold War because this failed invasion eventually led to the Cuban Missle Crisis of 1962. Which was also important parts of the Cold War.

    1) The Berlin Wall was a wall built by East German Communists to seperate East and West Germany.
    2) This was significant to the Cold War because on 1 sideof the wall they practiced communism and on the other they didn't.

    1) The Soviet Union sent thousands of troops into Afghanistan and immediately assumed complete military and political control of Kabul and large portions of the country.
    2) This is significant to the Cold War because the USSR was trying to spread communism by invading Afghanistan.

    1) The Disarmament agreement was to all together eliminate Nucular War all around the world.
    2) This is significant because this was around the time when the Cold War was and when all the Nucular war was happening.

    1) The Soviet Union was lacking techniical advancements and there factories were inefficient. Gorbachev's reforms (Perestroika and Glasnost) were meant to help with that.
    2) This swept communist governments throughout Eastern Europe from power and brought an end to the Cold War.
