Berlin Airlift
The day after the 18 June 1948, soviet grads halted trains and road travel into the western owned side of Berlin, this resulted in the west using an airlift to get fuel and supplies in. this airlift was from a few countries from that side and not just one. I think Stalin did this to get control of that side of Berlin -
NATO Formation
The North Atlantic Treaty Organization, or NATO is a treaty that says, if one of us is attacked we all will respond. This was founded in the cold war, and its Russian counterpart is the Warsaw pact.it it was sighed on the 4th April 1949. It is run by people from 28 member states. -
North Korean invasion of South Korea
This event was the invasion or south Korea by the north. This was caused by many things. The leader of north Korea at the time was Kim Il-sung and he may have wanted to rule all of Korea. Another of these is the line of division between the allies and the Russians at the end of world war 2. This event occurred on the border of south and north Korea 1950. -

Sputnik was the first man made satellite in space. Launched by the Russians on
4 Oct 1957. It marked what some call, the start of the “space race”. This satellite was launched into space by a 2 stage R-7 from Site No.1/5. It caused panic in other countries, and its radio could be picked up all over the world -
First American in Space
On May 5, 1961, Mercury Astronaut Alan B. Shepard His 15-minute sub-orbital flight made him the first American in space. His space craft went to space on board the Freedom 7 rocket. His flight in orbit lasted about 15 minutes, he was not the first man in space, and the Russians did that first. -
Cuban missile crisis
This event was started when the we took pictures of missiles being placed in Cuba. The U.S blockaded cuba with ships and later negotiated ended in the missiles being removed. This event lasted 13 days and came close to starting a nuclear war. The people involved were the leaders of the usa, and the U.S.S.R. -
The United States agrees to set up a hotline with the USSR
On June 20 1963, the us and U.S.S.R set up a hot line between there leaders. This was to improve communication, to resolve a problem. This occurred after the Cuban missile crisis in case of another event like tithe location of this is the offices of the leaders. -
Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons
This was a treaty signed by most countries to stop the spread of nuclear weapons. Lots of people were in this project, some being leaders of the Ussr and us. This treaty was signed in new York and only a few counties have not sighed or withdrawn from this treaty. -

The berlin wall fell on the 9th of November 1989. This event trigger others like unification of Germany. There were a lot of events leading up to this and they were caused by different people. This occurred in berlin, Germany. The wall was partially taken down by citizens with hammers and sledge hammers. This also made travel to between possible.
