Wast Berlin was blocked off from the rest of the world under communism. The Soviet Union took control of West Berlin iin 1948. The United States/United Nation took this problem into their own hands and Launched the Berlin Airlift to unblock West Berlin.

The Berlin Airlift was the responce to the Berlin Blockade. A plane flew in every three minutes loaded with supplies to help West Berlin become strong again. This resulted in West Berlin being unblocked from the rest of the world.

President Truman fired General MacArthur after a disagreenment of how to handle the war. Truman wanted a limited war while MacArthur wanted a full, intense, nuculerar weaponed war. Truman had the final say as to what to do being the comander in cheif, and decided that firing MacArthur was the best option.

The Cuban Missile Crisis, also known as the October Crisis ended the navel blockade of Cuba. Missles were fired at Cuba, which resulted in the withdrawal of the Soviet Union's nuclear missiles from Cuba.
