    Lincoln re-elected for second term.
    The signifigance would be that he kept a lot of things under control while he was president 2nd term.
  • Battle at Fort Sumter

    Battle at Fort Sumter
    A fort in the harbor of Charleston, South Carolina, the beggiing of the Civil War. There was a Union garrison Robert Anderson, who refused to surrender the fort and was attacked by Confederates. Attack forced an evacuation and surrender.
  • Blockade

    This blockade was for the Union Navy to constrict the confederates to the Union army. This was a great way for the Union to sneak an attack on the confederates because they had no idea when the Union was coming. Great unoin victorys.
  • Bull Run

    A small part of northeast Virginia, near Manassas. It was the site of two important Civil War battles, both Confederate victories. They are also known as the Battles of Manassas.
  • Monitor Vs. Virginian

    Monitor Vs. Virginian
    This was a sea battle against a Union battle ship and a confederate Ironclad. Confederates ironclad took down multipule Union ships. Proved that the South had new technology.
  • Shiloh

    On the morning of April 6, 1862, 40,000 Confederate soldiers came out of some woods and struck a line of Union soldiers covering ground near Pittsburg and the Tennessee River. It was another great win for the confederates.

    A battle that lasted 7 days. General McClellan led the union under commands by Lincoln. Lincoln told the general to attack first. The confederates lost most of the battles form withdrawing. This let the Union know that they most likely have the advantage.

    This was one of the most important battles on Union soil at this time. The Unoin playing defesnse and the confederates came to attack. Confederates comeing up is rare, General Lee usaully does the defense, but this time they attacked, and the South lost.

    This was a proclomation against slavary, if you were a slave you had the right to be set free. This is showing that Lincoln has control, and most people are against the South, but this wasn't the end of the war.

    This battle took place in Manassas, just like the first one, and it was the second battle between the North and South. This battle started because the North's General. Pope, was bragging and was determind to beat the South. Souths big victory, also making the northern soldiers not so cocky.

    Supposed to take away slavery, but it only ended slavery on the states that were rebeling.

    One of the most planned out wars for the confederates. This was Lees greatest battles he and the confederates won throught the war. The confederates had the smarts to make up that plan.

    This was a battle fought from the first of July to the third. This was a battle fought in Gettysburg Pennsilvania. The confederates were coming up from their last victory at Chancellorsville. This was also another great victory for the confederates.
  • Vicksburg

    This was a war in Vicksburg. The confederates won. This show that Grant had power in the West.
  • Chattanooga

    The battle for Chattanooga was the turning point in the Civil War because it opened the doorway to the Union forces for the invasion into the deep South at the last moment for making possible the capture of Atlanta in time to influence the 1864 congressional and presidential elections.

    Grant was put in charge of all North armies after getting on Lincolns side of the war. He lead to North to win the Civil War.

    A battle held in Atlanta, Georgia. The Unoin soldiers went to the confederates at Alanta and held a battle there. This led to the Savanna. Unoin took the railroads and other supplies.

    Sherman knew that he couldn't beat the confederates straight on, so he made a plan B, and that was to get their way to the port of Savanna. New way of thinking for the unoin.
  • Savanna falls

    Sherman's Union army has captured Savannah, Georgia. They now have created a military barrier that stretches from east to west across the South.
  • 13th Amendment

    This amendment banned all slavery of the United States. This says if you were to have a person as slavery you would be breaking the law. This made slavery illeagal.
  • Occupy Richmond

    The Unoin needed supplies and they were already attacking the confederates capital.
  • Lee Surrenders

    Lee Surrenders
    At this point Lee and his army has had enough, they were tiered and broken, so General Lee of the confederates surrendered to General Grant of the Unoin. They settled this through notes. Settled things between the Unoin and Confederates, the war was over. Unoin won.
  • Lincoln shot at Ford's Theater

    Lincoln shot at Ford's Theater
    Abe Lincoln and his wife went to Ford's theater to enjoy a night out, but Abe didn't know that was the last time he would go out. Abe was shot that night by Andrew Jackson. The biggest president around that time got shot and killed.
