    The Confederacy faced a lot of problems and one of them being shortage of food. As the war was further and further into it the Souths production in food declined causing food riots because of the food shortages. They depended on every little bit that they had sometimes even sacrifising whatever it is they have.

    Union sent representatives to different nations to pick at the topic of being an independent nation. Some were for becoming independent and some like France were against. Britain who were highly against slavery put up a "wait and see" attitude towarda the situation but in order for the Union to get any support from Europe they'll have tp fight hard and prove how strong they are in the battle field.

    The Confederate attacked Fort Sumter in the beginning of April. After hours of hard fighting the Union troops seem to probably have victory but then when they least expected it Jackson brought a new fresh batch of soldiers to fight.the Union ran away while the Confederates call victory.

    In late 1861 Britain invaded the Union blackade then they took in the two Britain representatives. Whens news went back to Britain they were no where near content in quick action to this they sent troops up to Canada threatning to cause war if they didn't release the two men they had captured

    The Souths government was strong and somewhat independent giving it difficulties for it to overcome some of the things the North was capable of going through with less pf a problem that had an impact on the war in there own way. The seperations or secession the south from the union caused a bit of a problem considering the souths economy was really bad and they had to make the best of the resources they had that were very few.

    Unlike the South the north main focus was on raising there troops getting them lined and ordered and also getting the nation back to being united.

    In 1861 Republicans started the federal tax and collected 3 percen off of people who earned a certain about of money they also started to tax on many things coming to liquor even to newspaper. All these taxtes were dropped once the war was over.

    without the South having a say Republicans had the ability to make up laws that will have a great impact up tp this date. This gave the Congress the ability to raise tariffs mainly to protect the northern industries and raise money for war.

    confederates had hardly any resources to fight back. On one day they entered Gettysburg and a fight erupted and it is now known as the battle of Gettysburg.

    As in the south the men went off to fight while the women stayed back at home and worked hard in factories and farms. This was way more convenient considering women would work for less pay. The North had farms and factories that hepled them produce anything that they needed.
  • Prison medical camps

    Prison is never a pretty place to be in but the medical care area was no where far from being different than there too. The place had poor nutrition and the food was sometimes contaminated and many soldiers died of some sort of disease they got either from food mosquitoes etc.

    Lee sent his troops straight into Richmont and into action. Despite his plan and charge after charge Lee lost almost half of his troops in some units and did not manage to win yet this battle.

    Lincoln issued that all slaves in area where there's rebellion against government should free the slaves. Many peoples reaction wasn't that good they thought he could have done more to free the slaves.

    After the Emancipation Proclamation african american slaves escaped and became part of the Union army by 1865 almost 180000 African Americans joined the army.

    By mid to late March rich people managed to find a way to get out of any chance of being in war. They used there money to buy themselves out of fighting. Not many people who didn't have the money were for it many thought it wasn't fair that just because they had money they didn't have to fight like the less fortunate people. Because of this many riots broke out among both social classes.

    Confederates attacked the Union even though they weren't prepared for the attack they got trhy managed to stand still hold there ground. At the end the confederates lost there leader. Thenon April 7th Grant sent them to counterattack on the Confederates but then the Confederates retreated quickly to Corinth.

    Lee ordered his army to go at night and build fires. He thought they had retreated but once again the confederates got together into two seperated groups and counter attacked the union troops.

    2nd battle of Bull Run
    Lincoln turned to General John Pope who was organizing a new army outside of the state. Towards the end of August Jackson and his troops marched up North ready to destroy all of John Popes supplies and the army. Pope on the other hand was not pleased at all and ordered his army to smash Jackson and his troops. While in the verge of there plan into action they got attacked in the main conderacy body of the army.

    About almost 15000 people got together at Gettysburg to have a memorial to honor the Union soldiers who lost their lives despite the good words of Lincoln some still criticized that his speech was to short and no good.
