Harriet Tubman was known as the "Conductor" on the underground railroad, she was a freed slave. Tubman would travel to Southern States to free slaves, she would take them to the North so they could live free. The underground railroad was a number of houses carriages and trains that slaves would be able to hide out in while getting to freedom.
