North and South fought about the right to have slavery and why it was wrong or not. 200 people were killed in the violent settling of the topic. It was pretty much a mini war which would obviously make the Civil War a little more inevitable.

This decision was a Supreme Court ruling say that even though Scott was a free man and lived on free soil he could not sue because he didn't have the rights. Even though Dred was a freed slave.

He was not doing the right thing but he did have the right idea in mind.It made the war inevitable because the South hated people like John Brown it angered them more, John Brown was hung for treason after his failed attempt.

    Lincolns election was in my opinion the biggest trigger. It was inevitable that one of the Southern states would have succeeded with all of the other events, but just 1 month after the election, South Carolina seceded from the Union.
