On April 9, 1865, the leaders of the Union and Confederacy(Lee and Grant), met at Appomattox Court House to surrender. The union peacefully surrendered. This was part of ending the Civil War for good. -
Assassination Of Abraham Lincoln
John Booth shot Abraham Lincoln in Ford Theater on April 14, 1865. After he was shot, he was carried to a house accross the street. The bullet in that was shot into his head could not be removed. Abraham Lincoln died the next morning on April 15, 1865.
