    The Battle of Fort Sumter lasted from April 12-13. It was located in the Confederate city of Charleston. Confederate victory. Confederate Commanding Officer- P.G.T. Beauregard. Union Commanding Officer- Robert Anderson. First battle of the Civil War.
  • First Battle of Bull Run (Manassas)

    First Battle of Bull Run (Manassas)
    Near the Confederacy city of Manassas, Virginia. Condfederate Victory. Confederate Commading Officer- Joesph E. Johnston. Union Commanding Officer- Irvin McDowell. This is the battle where Thomas J. Jackson recieved his famous nickname "Stonewall Jackson."
  • Battle of Hampton Roads

    The Battle of Hampton Roads lasted from March 8-9. Near the Confederate mouth of Hampton Roads. Both sides claimed victory, but the Union had more casualties so I give it to the Confederates. Confederate Commanding Officer- Franklin Buchanan. Union Commanding Officer- John Marston.
  • Battle of Shiloh

    The Battle of Shiloh lasted from April 6-7. The battle was in Confederate Hardin County. Union victory. Confederate Commanding Officer- Albert Sidney Johnston. Union Commanding Officer- Ulysses S. Grant. Confederates got ultimate sucess on the first day but were grievely defeated on the second day.

    The battle lasted from August 28-30 in 1862. The battle was near the Confederacy city of Manassas, Virginia. Confederate Victory. Confederate Commanding Officer- Robert E. Lee. Union Commanding Officer- John Pope. The battle was a Union Disaster.

    The battle lasted from December 11- 15, 1862. In the Confederate City of Fredericksburg, Virginia. Confederate Victory. Confederate Commanding Officer- Robert E. Lee. Union Commanding Officer- Ambrose E. Burnside. Despite being outnumbered by over 30,000 soldiers, the Confederacy still won.

    The battle lasted from April 30-May 6, 1863. The battle was nearby the Confederate village of Chancellorsville. Confederate victory. Confederate Commanding Officer- Robert E. Lee. Union Commanding Officer- Joesph Hooker. This is the battle where Lee lost his prized general "Stonewall Jackson."
  • Siege of Vicksburg

    The Siege of Vicksburg lasted from May 18- July 4. It was in the Confederate city of Vicksburg. Union victory. Confederate Commanding Officer- John C. Pemberton. Union Commanding Officer- Ulysses S. Grant. Most of the Confederate forces were captured.
  • Battle of Gettysburg

    The Battle of Gettysburg lasted from July 1-3. The battle was located in Union Adam County. The Union won the battle. Confederate Commanding Officer- Robert E. Lee. Union Commanding Officer- George Meade. Known as the turning point of the Civil War.
  • Siege of Atlanta

    The Siege of Atlanta lasted from May 7- September 2. It was in the Confederate city of Atlanta. Union victory. Confederate Commanding Officer- John B. Hood. Union Commanding Officer- William T. Sherman.
  • Surrender at Appomattox Courthouse

    The Surrender was on April 9. It was at the Confederate Appomattox Courthouse. Union won the war. Confederate Commanding Officer- Robert E. Lee. Union Commanding Officer- Ulysses S. Grant. Signalfying the end of the Civil War.
  • Assassination of Abraham Lincoln

    Assassination of Abraham Lincoln
    The infamous John Wilkes Booth, was the one who assassinated President Lincoln. Him, Lewis Powell and George Atzerodt, were planning to kill Secretary of State William H. Seward and Vice- President Andrew Johnson.
  • Ratification of the 13th Amendment

    Officially prohibited slavery.
