Uncle Tom’s Cabin is a novel which showed the reality of slavery and is generally regarded as one of the major causes of the Civil War. The novel was written in 1852 by American author Harriet Beecher Stowe. It helped change American history for the better because it pushed the debate forward on slavery. Uncle Tom’s Cabin showed that African American’s have souls and feelings just like other humans.

Shiloh lasted two days, April 6-7, 1862. Confederate forces attacked Union forces under General Ulysses S. Grant at Shiloh, Tennessee. Around ⅙ of Union soldiers died, and ¼ of Confederate troops were killed.
