    Lincoln was the president during the Civil War. He was a Republican and was in office from 1861-1865. He was re-elected but did not live to see the end of slavery, for he was asassinated in 1865 (see John Wilkes Booth) directly after the Civil War had ended.

    Grant was an unlikely war hero of the Civil War. The general was given charge after General Pickett had failed an attack. Grant was one of the very few to be willing enough to fight Rober E. Lee. Grant had somehow managed to defeat Lee and his Confederate army, and win the Civil War for the Union.

    Robert E. Lee was one of the greates war generals the Confederacy had ever seen. He had never been defeated, until the Civil War that is. Lee and his Confederacy had surrendered to the Union, after he knew that his army could no longer stand.

    John Wilkes Booth was a Confederate supporter. Booth and his accomplices had come up with a plan to end the man that brought and end to the Confederate States, Licoln assasinated Lincoln on April 14th 1865 during a play. Licoln had officially not lived to see the end of slavery or the Reconstruction.
