    The South Secedes.
    The South legislature threatened the union, known as the United States of America, that if Lincoln were to become president they would leave the union. When Lincoln became president, they did as they said, and left the union taking along Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Texas, Virginia, Arkansas, Noth Carolina, and Tennessee. These were now known as the Confederate States of America.

    At Lincolns inauguration on March 4th he stated that he had no intentions on ending slavery but he also did not want to cause secession. He wanted to keep the states that already had slavery that way; this event brought on the Civil War.

    On the day of April 6th 1862 in Shiloh Tennessee, Confederate troops attacked Ulysses S. Grants union troops. By the end of the night federal forces were exhauseted and almost defeated. Although during the night the Union came and demanded the field. Killing 13,000 out of 63,000 Union troop soldiers.
