    Fitbit
Fitbit was created by James Park and Eric Friedman in 2007, but wasn't on the market until 2009. It revolutionized the way that consumers think about their health and wellness- using data to track steps, calories burned, and even sleep. Most consumers didn't wear a pedometer on a daily basis before, but the convenience of Fitbit meant that more people were caring about their health and fitness. Fitbit's success kicked off the wearable market, which now includes giants like Apple and Samsung.
