Chinese Immigration and African-American Emigration

  • Louis XVI Became King

It affected all of France. He made the decisions now and determined the fate of France. He was a bad leader and made really bad decisions which affected the citizens greatly. He didn't care about all of his people.
  • Bankers Refused to Lend Louis XVI Money

This affected him and all of France again. He made wrong decisions and ignored this issue until it was unfixable. He ended up making everything cost more and adding many expensive taxes. The citizens were so mad they revolted.
  • Price of Bread Went Up

It affected the citizens and poor people because they weren't able to afford it even more. So they weren't able to eat and starved.
  • Estates-General

This affected all France because it was about King Louis XVI finally doing something about France's government. A tax reform would change the government greatly.
  • National Assembly Was Voted To Be Established

It affected everywhere because it was voted in the national assembly to end absolute moarchy which was a major type of government before this time.
  • 6,000 Parisian Women Rioted Over the Price Of Bread

This affected all of France because the rising price of bread stopped people from being able to buy it, therefore created many deaths from starvation. This riot got King Louis XVI off the throne and Marie Antoinette with him.
  • The Chinese Exclusion Act was passed by Congress and signed by President Chester A. Arthur

It gave Chinese labor immigration a 10 year moratorium which stopped them from entering a bad working ethnic group. It stopped people that weren't qualified to immigrate.
  • Congress repealed all the exclusion acts.

It helped those being taken advantage off because the law included "skilled and unskilled laborers". Which is a statement that doesn't have a defintion and can be easily argued about.
  • A limit that 170,000 immigrants from outside the Western Hemisphere could enter the US was set.

This was for the United States because it was getting too many immigrants and it made the immigrants it did still get skilled workers.
  • The Immigration Act was passed.

This was also for the US because it was getting too many unknown and 'sketchy' immigrants. It let the US know who was qualified to enter and who they were. It made them identifiable.
