Treaty of Versailles
Germany had to agree to the war guilt. Also had topay $30 billion for war damages. This treaty stated that Germany's army and navy were restricted. The map of Europe would be re-drawn. This was the idea of US President Woodrow Wilson and was put into place after Germany lost World War 1. -
Great depression in Germany
Occured after the treat of versailles took place. Since Germany owed the allies $30 billion, they went into an economic crisis. Hyperinflation had taken place. Germany's money became de-valued and they printed too much money. This led to a huge economic disadvantage towards the Germans after World War 1. -
Hitler coming to power
This is the the day Hitler came into power. He was elected chancellor of Germany in this year also. The holecaust started under Hitler's say. World war 2 began becuase of him. -
Holecaust
This event created by Hitler was devastating. Jews were marked and treated differently in Germany after World War 1. Concentration Camps were newly introduced. From being excluded from Germany and its people, it escalated to the killing of them. Jews were targeted all across Europe. So many Jews died due to this event, just because they were who they were and not Germans. With the help of the Nazis, Hitler was able to eliminate the "problem" that they were facing. -
Appeasement (Munich Agreement)
British prime minister, Neville Chamberlain met Adolf Hitler on Septemeber 1938. Hitler threatened the minister, that he will invade Czechoslovakia unless Britian supported his plans to invade Sudeten;and. Britian obviously disagreed. Hitler decided to hold a four-power conference, containing Britian, France, Germany and Italy and convinced them to agree, but in return Hitler promised not to invade anymore countries. The agreement was later on broken by Hitler when he invaded Czecholslovakia. -
Germany's invasion of Poland
Germany invades Poland. Britian and France at the time had an alliance with Poland. This means if Poland was invaded Britian and France would come to the rescue. Besides coming as soon as possible, Britian and France gave Germany a peace offering; withdraw from Poland, or got to war. Germany, operated by Hitler refused. Which then concluded into Britian and France declaring war on Germany. This is marked as the beginning of World War 2.
