    Charles R Darwin

    Charles Robert Darwin was born February 12, 1809, Shrewbury, Shropshire, England. He was the second born son to Dr. Robert Darwin and Susannah Wedgwood. Darwin's mother died at a young age and he was raised by his 3 older sisters. Charles was taught about human psychology by his father. During his tenure in Anglican Shrewsbury School in 1818 to 1825, science was considered dehumanized by English public school. This is how he gained the epithet of "Gas". He was sent to study medicine in 1825.

    Scholar to Gentleman and Adventurer

    Charles started studying medicine at the University of Edinburgh in 1825. Surgery sickened Charles, so he decided to leave the school in 1828. He went on to study for a general degree at Christ's College, Cambridge, which led him to become an Angelic clergyman. While studying at both universities, he proved to be more interested in natural history than in his regular studies. Charles went on to begin his adventure in botany and natural science upon the beagle in Feb 1832 to Sept 1835.

    Theory of Evolution

    While out, Charles would discover fossils of extinct animals. It pushed him to discover why and how these animals passed. While in Galapagos Islands, Darwin noticed the difference between the species living on each island, but he failed to note them. At the end of the voyage Darwin finished his 770page diary about his findings. Darwin was fearful to publish his volume of books due to the retaliation from the church. His volumes would include many theories from different scientists and theorists.

    Theory Continued.

    Darwin published his volumes on the theory of evolution over the course of his life until his death. The best -seller " On the Origin of Species", was what divided most oil where man originated from. This causes others to view Charles as a mad man and some sought to get rid of his unorthodox views.

    Legacy

    In Darwin's lifetime it was very difficult to speak against the church. It was literal life or death, as you would be executed or exiled. Charles became exiled and a hermit after his fight with the church. After his death in April 1882, friends and colleagues petitioned for Darwin to have a ceremonial funeral and be buried in Westminer Abbey. Today his research is still widely debated and researched.
