Having suffered throughout the years with a mysterious illness Darwin finally succumbed to a heart attack April 10, 1882, but his works were not lost as his books and theory of the origin of species did open the way for the theory of evolution that is still being discussed to this day and helps scientists find not only the connection with animal life, but also the origins of humanity and how we are all linked to each other.
