The voyage took Darwin from Cape Verde England to the west coast of Africa to the eastern coast of South America in the first year. Charles Darwin wrote his book so that even people who knew nothing about science could engage with the book and the information within. Darwin included outlines of main points so the reader could return if they ever found themselves lost. After the Origin of species was published Darwin continued to work and oversee addition revisions to better clarify the content within.

A quote from the book that I found beautifully illustrates Darwin’s book. “There is grandeur in this view of life, with its several powers, having been originally breathed by the Creator into a few forms or into one; and that, whilst this planet has gone circling on according to the fixed law of gravity, from so simple a beginning endless forms most beautiful and most wonderful have been, and are being evolved”.
